The National Civil Police (PNC) reported the capture of a man suspected of killing his male partner over alleged infidelity.
The events occurred on Tuesday, January 2nd, in the El Matazano canton, in the municipality of San Juan Opico, in the department of La Libertad.
The police version indicates that the man identified as José Antonio Hernández Paz, 43 years old, was killed with a bladed weapon. Authorities suspect Josué Eduardo Platero, 20 years old, as the perpetrator of the homicide.
According to the PNC, Platero, the alleged murderer, was in a romantic relationship with Hernández Paz. That day, both had a disagreement over an alleged infidelity of the victim.
Authorities suspect that Platero may have planned the crime, injured him with the bladed weapon, and then discarded the victim’s body in a stream.
Platero was handed over to the Attorney General’s Office to be charged in court for the crime of homicide.
